LE PONANT
About LE PONANT
Le Ponant is an 84-metre sailing yacht built by Société Française de Construction Navale in 1990, completely rebuilt in 2022 with new interiors and exterior decks. Her current layout offers 16 spacious guest suites, hosting up to 32 guests with a dedicated crew of 34.
Le Ponant is designed for immersive cruising. Expansive deck spaces remain uncluttered while under sail, thanks to minimal running rigging and hydraulic-rigged sails. Four expedition Zodiacs extend the yacht’s reach to remote coastlines, and an onboard team includes an Expedition Leader and Naturalist to guide exploration, both on land and underwater. Diving equipment is available and all dive expeditions are conducted with local dive boats.
Life on board is shaped by a strong culinary tradition, with a French Executive Chef and a team of five in the galley. The yacht includes a massage room, and a Beautician and Sports Coach are part of the permanent crew. Le Ponant is based in the Mediterranean but also travels to Cape Verde, the Caribbean, northern Australia, Indonesia, and Papua. Her schedule is made for those drawn to rare destinations and the genuine experience of sailing.
